English language teaching as the first foreign language will no longer begin in the 1st grade in schools. The Ministry of Education and Science confirmed this information to InterpressNews.

According to the ministry, English teaching has been strengthened in the 10th grade.

“English will not start from the 1st grade, but English teaching has been strengthened in the 10th grade, where the number of English language hours has been increased,” the Ministry of Education and Science told InterpressNews.

In Georgian-language schools, English language teaching will begin from the 2nd grade.
