As Giorgi Sharashidze stated, the statement of the parliamentary majority leader Irakli Kirtskhalia regarding what happened in parliament is “completely irresponsible and talentless cynicism.”

“The perpetrators, lawbreakers, and abusers are there, and on top of all this, they are unserious. How can one even make a serious comment on what was said? What should we do now, sorry, in my childhood there was such a phrase: ‘Should we laugh in our armpits?’ Should I ask this to Kirtskhalia now, or what is the conversation about? Such a completely unserious crime occurred, which is not only a crime committed against us, it directly indicates and testifies that in Georgia the law does not rule at all and someone is above the law - apparently whoever is Mdinardze’s friend, and now it turns out that Kirtskhalia himself is ready to petition the Prosecutor’s Office? So Kirtskhalia and Mdinardze stand above the law, is this the reality? - under the conditions of ‘Dream,’ these people who have crossed all kinds of [boundaries]. How can I put it, this is no longer even called unseriousness, it is no longer called childishness. This is completely irresponsible, dismissive [talk], cynicism, and also talentless. In some way interesting and liked by someone. He speaks with completely talentless humor on such an important topic that is directly related to fair arrangement,” Giorgi Sharashidze stated.

According to his explanation, they did not file a statement with the Prosecutor’s Office regarding the confrontation that occurred only because their rights were violated; they also filed it “because they are fighting on behalf of those people who are completely unjustly serving sentences.”

“Compared to this crime, they are serving sentences for much lighter and absolutely painless crimes, they have been in the ‘Dream’s’ prisons for years, and of course we have no right to stop. Who said and who established that a case cannot be opened against a deputy?” - Giorgi Sharashidze stated and noted that “here we are dealing with an organized and group attack.”

According to his information, there are four countries where, for the same crime, legal prosecution was launched against members of parliament. According to Giorgi Sharashidze, these are Great Britain, Greece, South Korea, and Senegal.

“We set precedent upon precedent every day, which they see well, and this caused a completely inadequate reaction. Well, what else should we call Mr. Kirtskhalia’s briefing? Should we laugh in armpits with them? This is an event that caused widespread outrage in the country, by the way, even among their own supporters, from a legal and moral point of view,” Sharashidze stated to “TV Pirveli.”
