According to Tbilisi Mayor Kakha Kaladze, it is disappointing when “the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly adopts shameful resolutions.”

He told journalists about this, thus responding to the Hague Declaration adopted by the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly, which also includes a critical resolution on Georgia.

"This is not the first time that such resolutions have been adopted, which are based on absolute lies, falsehoods and slander. It is disappointing when the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly adopts such shameful resolutions. The mentioned institution is invited to countries, including Georgia, to observe elections. When you adopt such a resolution that is saturated only with lies, what kind of election observation are we talking about?! How can you invite such an organization to evaluate your elections?! It is absolutely unthinkable and incomprehensible.

As for the content of the resolution itself, of course, representatives of the agents’ network should not have the opportunity to participate in the elections. The interests of other countries cannot and will not be pursued here. First of all, the interests of the Georgian people, Georgian statehood will be protected, this is fundamentally important. That time is a thing of the past and it will no longer be what it was before 2012. When a foreigner would make a statement regarding Georgia and you would accept it as the complete truth and 100% given, that cannot be the case, that time is in the past. The masters of this country are the Georgian people and the Georgian people decide who will be at the helm of the country, who they entrust with the ability to govern the country, and not external forces and tasks," said Kakha Kaladze.

For information, the Georgian delegation, as a sign of protest, refused to participate in the vote on the “Hague Declaration” at the plenary session of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly. The corresponding statement was made by Nikoloz Samkharadze, Chairman of the Foreign Relations Committee of the Georgian Parliament, before the vote. The President of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly responded to Nikoloz Samkharadze’s remark and stated that leaving empty seats in the parliament is always the worst option, because democracy is, first and foremost, a joint attempt to resolve the conflict.

It is noteworthy that a few minutes after the Georgian delegation left the session, the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly adopted the “Hague Declaration,” which includes a resolution on Georgia. The resolution, “Protecting the Integrity of Elections and Fundamental Freedoms in Georgia,” is sponsored by American Congressman Joe Wilson.
