Employees of the Main Division for Juvenile Affairs of the Tbilisi Police Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs have detained one person on charges of intentionally causing serious harm to a minor’s health. The Ministry of Internal Affairs distributes this information.

According to the agency, the investigation established that the accused, as a result of a conflict that began on the basis of a verbal altercation, inflicted multiple stab wounds on the minor with a cold weapon and fled the scene.

According to them, the stabbed minor has been transferred to a clinic for the provision of appropriate medical assistance.

“Law enforcement officers, as a result of operational measures and investigative actions carried out on hot pursuit, detained the perpetrator of the crime as an accused person.

The police seized the weapon used to commit the crime - a knife - as physical evidence.

The investigation into the incident is ongoing under Article 117, Part 3 of the Criminal Code, which provides for imprisonment for up to 13 years,” the information states.
