Irakli Kupradze: Nothing can cover up the truth - Murusidze’s court is trying to oppress Aleko Elisashvili, but it will not succeed - Aleko will not break and will be released as a free man very soon

"Murusidze’s court is trying to oppress Aleko Elisashvili — but it will not succeed. Aleko will not break and will be released as a free man very soon," Irakli Kupradze, one of the leaders of Lelo – Strong Georgia, wrote on social media.

He expressed his support for Aleko Elisashvili.

"Ivanishvili’s court sentenced my friend and a man who loves his country immensely, Aleko Elisashvili, to 13 years in prison based on fabricated charges that are needed only for propaganda purposes.

Nothing can cover up the truth, and nothing can make me refuse to stand by a man who fights for his beliefs. Murusidze’s court is trying to oppress Aleko. It will not succeed. Aleko will not break and will be released as a free man very soon!

Freedom for Aleko Elisashvili!" Kupradze wrote.

For reference, politician Aleko Elisashvili, one of the leaders of the Strong Georgia – Lelo coalition, was found guilty by the court on charges of attempting to commit a terrorist act.

According to the decision of Judge Giorgi Gelashvili, the detained politician was sentenced to 13 years in prison. The case concerns an incident at the Tbilisi City Court Chancellery building, where employees of the court’s bailiff service stopped Elisashvili’s actions, after which he was arrested at the scene by law enforcement officers.
