Tbilisi City Court upholds decision on electronic tagging for Ioseb Sigua

The Tbilisi City Court has upheld the decision on electronic tagging for former senior police official, Colonel Ioseb Sigua, accused by his wife of physical violence and threats.

The decision was made by Judge Tornike Kochkiani.

For information, Ioseb Sigua's wife, Sofia Sigua-Shatberava, stated in Nodar Meladze's Shabati programme that Ioseb Sigua threatened to kill her, throw her from the 12th floor, put her in a barrel and bury her.

Sigua resigned from his position as head of the Main Division for Combating Organized Crime of the Central Criminal Police Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs today. He was appointed to this position a few days ago. Before that, he worked as the head of the Main Detective Division of the Tbilisi Police Department.
