As stated in the statement of the agency, according to the Government Decree of 2025, “the development of the territory implies the creation of a hotel project, which may include demolition works.

“We remind you that the said territory has been an abandoned construction site for years, which has been in private ownership since 2022.

According to the Decree of the Government of Georgia of May 6, 2025, the development of the territory implies the creation of a hotel project, which may include demolition works.

“Real estate development includes (but may not be limited to) the creation of a hotel, (which may include the implementation of construction/demolition works, in accordance with the procedure established by law) the commissioning of the relevant building(s) in accordance with the procedure established by law (if necessary), as well as the start of the hotel’s operation,” the relevant Government Decree states.

Regarding the approval issued by the Tbilisi City Hall Architecture Service, we would like to inform you that based on the positive decision of the Cultural Heritage Protection Council established at the Tbilisi City Hall by representatives of the Tbilisi Municipality and the Ministry of Culture of Georgia (Minutes N13, 16.04.2026), the Tbilisi Municipality LEPL - Tbilisi Municipality Architecture Service, by order No. 7977401 of 25/06/2026, agreed on the demolition project of building 01/4 located on the land plot owned by LLC “Rike Dom” in Rike district (No. 65/061; 01.17.01.065.061) in Tbilisi and issued a demolition permit,” the statement reads.
