The Tbilisi City Court has upheld a lawsuit filed by Goga Khaindrava and ordered television channel Formula to pay 10,000 GEL in compensation for moral damages.
The information was released by TV Formula.
For reference, the Prosecutor’s Office of Georgia announced that on 16 June 2026 it had launched an investigation into an alleged false accusation following a complaint filed by Goga Khaindrava’s lawyers concerning TV Formula.
According to the Prosecutor’s Office:
"On 16 June 2026, the Investigative Division of the Tbilisi Prosecutor’s Office launched an investigation under Article 373(1) of the Criminal Code of Georgia into the alleged offense of false accusation.
The investigation was initiated on the basis of a complaint submitted by lawyers representing film director Giorgi (Goga) Khaindrava, concerning statements made by TV Formula alleging Khaindrava’s possible involvement in a criminal offense."
As part of the investigation, film director Giorgi (Goga) Khaindrava was questioned as a witness by investigators.
The Prosecutor’s Office also questioned Davit Kashiashvili, the host and journalist of the Saturday Formula program, in connection with the criminal case opened against TV Formula.
