When you have five attempts at revolution in a country in four years, four of which are violent, this is nothing but political terror. Agents are constantly engaged in this, which we also called the opposition at one time, although we can never call them the opposition, - Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze stated on Imedi LIVE.
As the head of government noted, many steps have been taken to suppress political terror, including the "Transparency Law" which was precisely the law against political terror.
"The example of Georgia is one of the best when we talk about political terror. First, I will recall the events of 2004-2012, when the Georgian people were under political terror, and this was done by agents controlled from outside, which were in power in our country at that time. After that, especially if we take the recent years, the period since the end of 2020, our country and our population have been under constant political terror. We have gone through five attempts at revolution. This is nothing but political terror. When you have five attempts at revolution in a country in four years, four of which are violent, this is nothing but political terror. Agents that we used to call the opposition have been constantly engaged in this, although we can never call them the opposition. This is an ordinary foreign agency that has the only task, the only order - which is precisely to keep the population of Georgia under constant political terror. Of course, we cannot allow this. We have taken many steps. We took steps to prevent this political terror, including the transparency law, which was the law against political terror. Other steps that were taken, amendments to the law on assemblies and demonstrations, tightening of various types of administrative norms, and so on. All of this, including the regulations related to the spread of hatred, are all legislation and steps against political terror. You remember, when we were adopting the transparency law, a representative of the previous administration, the then ambassador, came out and declared that it was a “black day for Georgian democracy.” “Super Tuesday” and “a black day for democracy” are the same farce, both of them. This was also an act of political terror," the Prime Minister said.
According to him, the statement made by former US Ambassador Kelly Degnan was an act of political terror, when she told a shameful lie to the Georgian people and thereby artificially incited revolutionary processes in the country.
