Patrol Police detain Lebanese citizen for attempting to illegally cross Georgia’s state border

According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, officers of the Border Management and Coordination Main Division of the Patrol Police Department have detained a Lebanese citizen on charges of attempting to illegally cross Georgia’s state border.

According to the agency, law enforcement officers detained a foreign citizen at Tbilisi International Airport when he was attempting to illegally cross Georgia’s state border using a forged document.

“The investigation is underway under Articles 19-344 and 362 of the Criminal Code, which provides for imprisonment for a term of up to 5 years,” reads the information.
