Doctor Giorgi Akhobadze was detained by police at his home. Earlier today, the court sentenced him to 25 days of administrative detention.

Akhobadze was summoned to court over a comment he posted on Facebook. The Ministry of Internal Affairs accuses him of writing an insulting comment directed at Vato Shakarishvili.

On July 8, 2026, Akhobadze was also fined GEL 3,000 by the court in a similar case.
