“Kutaisi has always been one of the most important centers of education, science and culture in our country. From today, with the opening of the Technology Hub, Kutaisi is also becoming one of the main centers of technological development in Georgia,” Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze said in his address at the opening ceremony of the Kutaisi Technology Hub.

According to the Prime Minister, both digital and physical connectivity are equally important for a modern technological ecosystem.

“The country’s largest technology park, an interactive science and technology museum, the international technology school TUMO, an artificial intelligence computing center, spaces for startups, and modern laboratories in robotics, electronics, drones, artificial intelligence, virtual reality and other fields will operate here.

Kutaisi International University will become an integral part of this ecosystem, because a strong technology hub cannot naturally develop without a strong university, a research environment and qualified human resources. Kutaisi International University creates precisely the academic and scientific foundation that will enable the hub to become not only a learning and working space, but also a center for research, the creation of new knowledge and the development of high-tech products.

For a modern technological ecosystem, not only digital but also physical connectivity is equally important. Kutaisi International Airport will help the Kutaisi Technology Hub develop into a technological center of not only national but also regional importance.

Modern technological infrastructure, a strong university and international connectivity create a unique opportunity for Kutaisi to become a city where knowledge is transformed into innovation, innovation into business, and business into new jobs and economic growth.
