Court releases person accused of violence against Onise Okriashvili on bail

The person accused of violence against Onise Okriashvili was granted a bail of 5,000 GEL. He was released from the courtroom.

The prosecutor's office requested that the accused be granted a bail of 5,000 GEL in the form of a preventive measure.

An investigation conducted by the Ministry of Internal Affairs established that on July 22, 2026, at night, in Tbilisi, due to insulting Georgian writer Nodar Dumbadze, the accused physically assaulted Onise Okriashvili, hitting him several times on the head and various parts of the body, causing the victim to experience physical pain.

Law enforcement officers arrested the accused within a few hours of the incident. He was charged under Article 126, Part 1 (violence) of the Criminal Code of Georgia.
