The State Security Service has launched an investigation under the article of sabotage into the emergency shutdown of electricity supply across the country on July 24 and 25. In particular, according to the agency, the State Security Service of Georgia "has launched an investigation into the emergency, repeated shutdown of electricity supply across the country under Article 318 of the Criminal Code of Georgia, which means disrupting the normal functioning of a state enterprise or other important facilities or damaging/destroying them with the aim of creating a threat to the state interests of Georgia."
The statement notes that the State Security Service will gradually inform the public about the progress of the investigation.
