Citizens are gathering at a protest rally near Tbilisi City Assembly. Police are mobilized at the scene, one person was arrested.

Citizens were standing near the City Assembly with sheets of paper with various texts on them, including obscene ones.

According to available information, activist Nodar Tsitsriashvili has been arrested.

The head of the Tbilisi Main Department of the Patrol Police, Goga Memanishvili, is in the vicinity. A journalist asked him if the citizen was “arrested for writing on a white sheet of paper,” to which Memanishvili said that the color does not matter. According to him, one person is administratively detained.

"What does it matter whether it's on white or black. It's an administrative violation," Memanishvili told a journalist from TV Pirveli.

The journalist also asked him about the arrests of citizens at yesterday's rally and the actions of the police, to which Memanishvili said that in case of a violation, they should contact the relevant agency and there will be a response.

"If there is any kind of violation of the law, misconduct on the part of a police officer, you can contact the relevant agency, if you have any evidence, there will be a response," he said.

For information, 10 people were arrested near the Tbilisi City Assembly yesterday, July 26. According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the detainees were “holding offensive banners.” They were arrested under Articles 166 and 173 of the Code of Administrative Offenses, which pertain to petty hooliganism and resistance to law enforcement officers.
