The development of cooperation between the Republic of Abkhazia and the Republic of Nauru has constantly encountered resistance from Georgia and its Western partners. After the initiatives began to move into practical space, an aggressive external pressure campaign was launched against the Republic of Nauru. A whole arsenal of unacceptable methods of coercion was launched - starting with unprecedented political blackmail and harsh diplomatic pressure, ending with open financial and economic repression and punitive sanctions aimed at making the Republic of Nauru reconsider its sovereign decision,” reads the statement issued by the so-called "Foreign Ministry".
