Mamuka Mdinaradze will lead everything at a very high level and the work of the regions will be arranged like the hands of a Swiss watch, - this is what “Georgian Dream” MP Levan Machavariani told journalists.

As for the criticism from the opposition, according to Levan Machavariani, any opponent would wish for Mamuka Mdinaradze to no longer be a team leader, because he is an outstanding member of “Georgian Dream.”

“There is no need to make many comments regarding Mamuka Mdinaradze’s capabilities. We all know what he is capable of and what kind of working style he has. Of course, there are challenges in the regions. These challenges exist both in the governance system and in decision-making, in accelerating bureaucracy. We want all of this to be as well-organized as possible. Mamuka Mdinaradze, within the scope of his capabilities, will organize all of this at the level that is theoretically possible. Of course, expectations are very high.

In my opinion, this [removing Mamuka Mdinaradze] is the desire of the opponents, proceeding from the fact that Mamuka Mdinaradze is an outstanding leader of the team. I want to once again emphasize his working style and skills. Of course, any opponent would wish for Mamuka Mdinaradze to no longer be a leader of our team.

As for the creation of this position - a new ministry in the direction of the regions was already established, and this is not old news either. In this case, the position of State Minister for Regional Policy Issues is being created, which in essence is a continuation of this ministry.

Of course, we do not run away from problems. There are challenges in the regions, and these challenges are mainly conditioned by delayed decision-making in the vertical of governance; in some cases, officials cannot take responsibility upon themselves, accordingly, all of this needs to be accelerated in time. Proceeding from this, of course, it is very logical that Mamuka Mdinaradze will lead all of this at a very high level and the work of the regions will be arranged like the hands of a Swiss watch,” Machavariani stated.

For information, according to a statement by Georgia’s Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze, in September the Ministry of Regional Development will be abolished and the position of State Minister for Regional Policy Issues will be created, to which Mamuka Mdinaradze will be appointed.

As for the position of State Minister for Law Enforcement Agencies, which was created three months ago and was headed by Mamuka Mdinaradze, according to Irakli Kobakhidze, the agency will be abolished by law in the first week of September, and until then it will remain vacant.
