Amy V. Diaz will be the Chargé d’Affaires of the United States of America in Georgia.

The previous Chargé d’Affaires of the United States, Alan Persell, left Georgia one week ago.

According to information from the U.S. Embassy in Georgia, Amy Diaz has held the following positions at various times: Chargé d’Affaires and Deputy Chief of Mission at the U.S. Embassy in Lilongwe (Malawi); Deputy Director of the Office of Policy and Global Issues in the Bureau of European Affairs at the U.S. Department of State; Head of the Consular Section at the U.S. Embassy in Harare (Zimbabwe); Head of the Narcotics Affairs Section at the U.S. Embassy in Kabul (Afghanistan).

Her work experience also includes: positions of Rule of Law Advisor and Coordinator of the “Summit of the Americas” at the U.S. Embassy in Panama; Head of the Internal Political Section at the U.S. Embassy in Tbilisi; Vice-Consul at the U.S. Embassy in Harare; Vice-Consul at the U.S. Consulate General in Monterrey (Mexico).
