According to Giorgi Rekhviashvili, lawyer of one of the leaders of Strong Georgia - Lelo, convicted Aleko Elisashvili, the policeman allegedly insulted by Aleko Elisashvili is Shota Chipashvili.

At this moment, Aleko Elisashvili is being officially informed of the charges in the fourth criminal case in a row in Rustavi Penitentiary No. 5. According to the lawyer, this case is politically motivated.

“In a few minutes, the state prosecution will charge Aleko Elisashvili with another absurd, fourth, criminal case. This is an absurd case. As you know, this case concerns the so-called insult to a witness during the consideration of a terrorist act case. I cannot confirm this issue [the identity of the police officer] now, since I have not seen the case materials, but it is assumed that he is Shota Chipashvili. Aleko Elisashvili exposed him at the trial that he committed cruel treatment against him, this is not just verbal abuse, these are not just words, Aleko Elisashvili had severe injuries to his face, hand, blood was flowing from his hand, however, we see selective justice and instead of starting an investigation into inhuman treatment and abuse of power, Aleko Elisashvili only gave a remark and called on the witness to confess to the court what he had done to him. However, Elisashvili was first suspended by the court and threatened with expulsion, and then the prosecutor's office opened a new criminal case. Of course, this is political persecution and this is the fourth in a series, because before that there was the Ali Babaev case, two cases of a terrorist act, and this is the fourth case. However, there will be no evidence in the case, because I attended these court sessions, there was no insult,” Rekhviashvili said.

For information, Aleko Elisashvili will be charged in the 4th criminal case in Rustavi Penitentiary No. 5. The case concerns the alleged disrespect shown towards Shota Chipashvili, a witness questioned in court, a patrol police representative.

Elisashvili will be charged under Article 366, Part 1 of the Criminal Code of Georgia, which involves contempt of court.
