According to the statement of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, as a result of intensive investigative actions conducted in the city of Valencia, Georgian and Spanish law enforcement officers arrested three Georgian citizens - members of an organized criminal group. According to the agency, police measures are actively continuing to detain the fourth member.

As the ministry states, a Georgian police attaché participated in the special operation along with Spanish colleagues.

The detainees are accused of apartment theft, money laundering and membership in an organized criminal group.

“The investigation established that the defendants systematically robbed residential apartments in Spain. According to a pre-developed plan, they chose houses where the owners were not present, illegally entered using special tools and took possession of expensive items and money.

As a result of searches of the detainees’ personal, automobile and temporary residences by law enforcement officers, stolen items, a large amount of money and special tools necessary for committing the crime were seized.
