Lasha Kapanadze, the lawyer for Giorgi Chigladze, the defendant in the case of an incident that occurred during a wedding at a hotel in Telavi, has released a video camera recording.

As the lawyer writes, the video camera recording clearly shows that singer Aleksandre (Elguja) Mrelashvili and wedding organizer Mariam Omanadze were doused with an unknown liquid poured from above, which also spilled into the music player standing in front of Aleksandre Mrelashvili, causing damage to the device.

"From the materials of the criminal case of Giorgi Chighladze, we share with you the video camera recording of the hotel "Agarani Mamuli".

In the recording, we see that on 18.07.2026, at 20:15:20 according to the camera time, the wedding guests’ attention was drawn by the actions of the Russian vacationers above them. This is the moment when the intoxicated Russian tourists began to shout "Горька" (kiss) at the king and queen and then various provocative shouts.

Because the wedding guests did not pay due attention to their shouts, the irritated Russian tourists began to pour unknown liquids from the 3rd floor.

In the video camera recording, at 20:16:34 according to the camera time, it is clearly visible that the singer Alexander (Elguja) Mrelashvili and the wedding organizer Mariam Omanadze were doused with an unknown liquid poured from above, which also spilled into the music player standing in front of Aleksandre Mrelashvili, which caused damage to the device.

The provocation from the Russians begins from the moment recorded above.

I would also like to note that it is common for citizens of foreign countries, especially Russians, to act according to a pre-developed fraudulent scheme, namely, foreign citizens, while traveling to another country, organize a provocation of a crime, ensnare the victim, who they push to commit a crime in order to obtain the status of a victim in a criminal case and then, upon returning to their own country, compensate a large amount of money from the insurance company," the lawyer wrote on the social network.

For information, the incident occurred on July 18 at a hotel in the village of Ruispiri, Telavi Municipality. A verbal altercation between wedding guests and Russian tourists staying at the hotel escalated into a physical altercation. Law enforcement officers arrested Giorgi Chigladze due to the incident. He was charged under Part 1 of Article 120 of the Criminal Code, which refers to intentional infliction of minor bodily harm. The court granted Giorgi Chigladze a 5,000-GEL bail and released him from the courtroom.
