Students living in occupied territories to be fully funded in state higher educational institutions

In 2026, students living in the occupied territories will be enrolled in Georgian higher educational institutions without unified national exams and will benefit from full funding for their studies in higher educational institutions established by the Government of Georgia.

According to the Ministry of Education, Science and Youth of Georgia, the registration of those wishing to participate in the program has already begun and will continue until September 5, 2026.

"Persons residing in the occupied territories of Georgia who have studied for the last 2 years and received a document confirming complete general education in a general education institution located in the occupied territory and whose complete general education is recognized in accordance with the procedure established by the Ministry of Education, Science and Youth of Georgia are entitled to enroll in higher educational institutions without taking unified national exams.

Applications from applicants can be submitted in material form to the State Attorney's Office in Gori, Kaspi, Kareli and Khashuri municipalities (address: Gori, Peradze St. No. 5; Tbilisi, Petre Kavtaradze Alley No. 1) and in electronic form on the website of the Ministry of Education and Culture of the Autonomous Republic of Abkhazia," reads the information.
