Gakharia for Georgia responds to the 18th anniversary of the 2008 Russian-Georgian war.

As the party's statement says, it is cynical that on the anniversary of the 2008 war, Dream representatives are more concerned about the so-called "Russophobia" than about the occupation and their own citizens who are victims of the occupation.

“18 years ago, Russia openly invaded Georgia and occupied Georgian territories - Abkhazia and the Tskhinvali region. We paid a heavy price while defending our homeland from the aggressor, and we honor the heroes who sacrificed their lives.

Unfortunately, the aggression continues today - Georgian territories remain occupied, and Moscow has accelerated the process of de facto annexation of the occupied Tskhinvali region.

Against these alarming events, the Dream government, instead of mobilizing the international community, has chosen to blame its own country, and is responding to the ongoing annexation processes with criminal silence.

It is cynical that on the anniversary of the 2008 war, representatives of Dream are more concerned about the so-called “Russophobia” than about the occupation and their own citizens who are victims of the occupation.

We call on our international community to firmly support the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Georgia and condemn the ongoing annexation processes in the occupied territories.

Today, this support is all the more important against the backdrop of the collaborationist policy of the Dream.
