Law enforcement officers have arrested 2 citizens of the People's Republic of China on charges of theft.

As stated in the information released by the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the accused illegally took 7,800 USD and 4,450 EUR belonging to two passengers on board the plane while traveling on one of the flights.

"Officers of the Isani-Samgori Main Division of the Tbilisi Police Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs have arrested two citizens of the People's Republic of China on charges of theft.

The investigation revealed that the accused illegally took possession of 7,800 US dollars and 4,450 euros belonging to two passengers on board the plane while traveling on one of the flights.

As a result of operational measures and investigative actions, law enforcement officers quickly identified the perpetrators of the crime and arrested them as defendants on the territory of the airport.

Law enforcement officers seized the stolen money as evidence.

The investigation is underway under Part Four of Article 177 of the Criminal Code, which provides for imprisonment for a term of up to 10 years," the MIA said.
