No one in our country mistreats tourists, regardless of their nationality - neither Russians, nor Ukrainians, nor citizens of European, Asian or other countries, - Tbilisi Mayor Kakha Kaladze stated in an interview with Russian sports journalist and blogger Nobel Arustamian.

According to Kakha Kaladze, forces directed from abroad have "launched a new propaganda campaign" against the Georgian nation and interests, and they claim that Georgians mistreat tourists of certain nationalities, which, according to Kaladze, is a complete lie.

“It is very safe with us [in Georgia]. I can say that Tbilisi and Georgia as a whole is one of the safest countries and cities in the world, but recently, unfortunately, forces from abroad, under the influence of others, have launched a new propaganda campaign against our nation and our interests. They claim that Georgians treat tourists of certain nationalities badly and call on them not to come to us.

Special fake profiles, “bots” spread lies on social networks. They write that Georgian citizens leave Russian tourists alone in the forest, specially spoil, for example, the food they ordered in restaurants. And this is only part of the lie. Then, this false information is regularly published, unfortunately, by large foreign Internet sites that have an audience of millions. Then it is actively spread by bloggers, who, most likely, are controlled by the authors of this lie. If I am not mistaken, two or three days ago, the State Security Service of Georgia launched an investigation into the activities against the country. This campaign is organized from abroad and is supported within the country in order to harm our economy and state…

I want to say truly, honestly and officially that all this information on social networks is a complete lie. No one in our country treats any tourist badly. No matter what nationality they are - neither Russians, nor Ukrainians, nor citizens of European, Asian or other countries.
