Today, Irakli Kobakhidze confirmed that a strategic product, gasoline, is entering the territory controlled by Russia, occupied Abkhazia, from the territory of Georgia. Accordingly, we are dealing with an action that is presumably authorized in advance by the government, the basis for which, as well as the time and justification for granting consent are unknown to the public, - Nika Gvaramia, one of the leaders of the Coalition for Change, says in a statement posted on the social network.

As Gvaramia writes, it is necessary to immediately find out through which business entity the fuel was imported into Abkhazia and who specifically signed the agreement, when and for what formal reason.

“Today, Irakli Kobakhidze confirmed that a strategic product, gasoline, is entering the territory controlled by Russia, occupied Abkhazia, from the territory of Georgia. According to him, due to the acute fuel crisis, gasoline entered occupied Abkhazia from the territory controlled by Tbilisi not at the initiative of the state, but of private business, which is in accordance with the law on occupation.

The Georgian law on Occupied Territories generally prohibits economic activity with Abkhazia and South Ossetia in direct, unauthorized ways and provides for criminal liability for specific violations. However, the law also provides for exceptions, as a rule, for humanitarian purposes and with authorization by the government.

Accordingly, we are dealing with an action that is presumably authorized in advance by the government, the basis for which, as well as the time of granting consent, and the justification for it are unknown to the public.

Considering that - the Russian war machine is experiencing an acute shortage of fuel, and Russian military bases are located on the territory of occupied Abkhazia, that the Ivanishvili regime, especially recently, has been emphatically and purposefully indicating the need for cooperation with Russia, as well as considering that the introduction of fuel into Russian-controlled territory cannot be considered justified by humanitarian or socio-economic goals permitted by law, considering Georgia’s security and territorial interests, as well as Western sanctions imposed on Russia, it becomes clear that the Ivanishvili regime has today admitted that with their permission (and generally by them) an action is being carried out that is contrary to Georgia’s sovereign interests, violates the Georgian Constitution, violates the sanctions imposed on Russia by the West, and aims to provide assistance to the Russian war machine by supplying it with a product of strategic importance.

It should be immediately clarified through which business entity all this happened.

For information, the media is reporting that, amid the fuel crisis in Abkhazia, fuel was imported from Georgian-controlled territory. Today, Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze confirmed this information at the briefing held at the government administration and specified that the fuel was imported legally, not by the government, but by business.
