In the machination of importing fuel into Abkhazia, the authorities used an LLC with a special regime that had a permit for trade relations with Abkhazia, - writes economist Roman Gotsiridze on social media.

Roman Gotsiridze does not rule out that in reality the actual supplier is a large Georgian oil-importing company that, out of fear of sanctions, “helped the separatist regime in this roundabout way.”

According to Roman Gotsiridze, the “Georgian Dream” government acted on Russia’s orders.

“As it turns out, in the machination of importing fuel into Abkhazia the authorities used an LLC with a special regime that had a permit for trade relations with Abkhazia. The question arises - where did this booth-sized entrepreneurial entity get so much fuel? Does this not mean that in reality the actual supplier is a large Georgian oil-importing company that, out of fear of sanctions, helped in this roundabout way the separatist entity of Abkhazia, which is an ally of Russia in the war against Ukraine? It is clear that the ‘Dream’ government acted on Russia’s orders,” - writes Roman Gotsiridze.

For information: Information was disseminated in the media that, against the background of the fuel crisis created in Abkhazia, fuel entered from territory controlled by Georgia. At a briefing held in the Government Administration on 12 August, the head of government Irakli Kobakhidze confirmed the said information and stated that the fuel was brought in not by the authorities, but by business in compliance with the law.
