Employees of the Main Directorate for Juvenile Affairs of the Tbilisi Police Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs detained 5 minors at different times on charges of group theft and robbery; among them, 2 have previous convictions and are currently under suspended sentences.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs is disseminating information about this.
According to the agency, as a result of the criminal acts committed by the minors, commercial facilities of various purposes suffered financial damage exceeding 30,000 lari.
“As a result of complex investigative actions carried out by law enforcement officers, it was established that the minors, by prior agreement, in a group, with the aim of unlawful appropriation, stole products of various values from pharmacy and grocery store chains located in Tbilisi and fled the scene. It is also established that one of the accused unlawfully took possession of a citizen’s motorcycle.
Within the framework of the ongoing investigation, recordings from the surveillance cameras installed in the commercial facilities have been seized, which confirm the criminal acts of the accused.

As a result of the operational measures and investigative actions carried out by the police, all five minors were detained as accused persons on the basis of a judge’s ruling.
The investigation is ongoing under Articles 178 and 177 of the Criminal Code, which provide for deprivation of liberty for a term of up to 8 years,” - the information states.
