Three individuals have been arrested who, by threatening to use a cold weapon, forced two citizens to take online loans from different banks

According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the individuals involved in the crime withdrew the entire approved sum of money from one of the citizens and misappropriated it.

"Officers of the Tbilisi Police Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia, Old Tbilisi Main Division, have arrested three individuals on charges of extortion committed as a group.

The investigation revealed that the defendants, at gunpoint, forced two citizens to take online loans from different banks.

The individuals involved in the crime withdrew the entire approved amount of money from one of the citizens and misappropriated it.

As a result of operational measures and investigative actions carried out by law enforcement officers, 3 individuals involved in the crime were arrested. The police seized part of the money misappropriated by the defendants as evidence.

The police are conducting relevant investigative actions to expose and hold accountable other individuals involved in the crime. The investigation is being conducted under Article 181 of the Criminal Code, which provides for imprisonment for a term of up to 7 years," reads the information.
