Among those pardoned by President Mikheil Kavelashvili in connection with the Mariamoba holiday is 20-year-old Saba Jikia, who was detained during the protests.

Later, Saba Jikia posted a video on his Instagram Story, saying: “Friends, yes, I’m out.”

Earlier, reports also emerged that Fridon Bubuteishvili, Sikon Makharadze, and Davit Khomeriki, who were detained during various protests, had been pardoned.

For the record, Saba Jikia was charged under Article 353¹, Part 1 of the Criminal Code, which concerns an attack on a police officer. Specifically, the Prosecutor’s Office accused him of attacking a police officer during a protest on Rustaveli Avenue on November 30, 2024. Saba Jikia was arrested on December 5, 2024, and on July 10, 2025, the court of first instance found him guilty and sentenced him to four years and six months in prison.

According to the President’s Administration, Georgian President Mikheil Kavelashvili pardoned 226 people in connection with the Mariamoba holiday.
