Ministry of Internal Affairs launches investigation into attack on protesters near Adjara Government House under article of violence

The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia has launched an investigation into the attack on protesters near the Adjara Government House under Article 126 of the Criminal Code, which refers to violence.

No one has been arrested in connection with the incident so far.

Today, unknown individuals confronted protesters near the Adjara Government House, where a protest rally was taking place.

According to the protesters, unknown individuals physically and verbally abused them. According to them, the reason for the confrontation was the banners displayed at the rally with the inscriptions “Russia is an occupier” and “Georgia’s place is in Europe.”
