According to businessman Tamaz Elizbarashvili's lawyer, Lekso Svimonishvili, Tamaz Elizbarashvili was detained under administrative rules and is now being transferred to the main department.

According to him, the investigative actions could not be completed.

“At this stage, the investigation could not be completed, because Tamar Elizbarashvili was detained under administrative law. If you ask any police officer, they themselves do not know [what the reason was], they themselves cannot give you an answer for it. My colleague claims that violence was committed against him, which I did not personally witness, although there was a very aggressive attitude. No criminal case has been filed, as far as I know, he is being transferred to the main department. At this stage, he is not charged, simply investigative actions were carried out, after which he was detained under administrative law,” the lawyer said.

Businessman Tamaz Elizbarashvili was detained in his own apartment. Law enforcement officers handcuffed Elizbarashvili and put him in a police car. There was noise at the scene.

InterpressNews was told by the Ministry of Internal Affairs that the search of Tamaz Elizbarashvili's car was conducted within the framework of the investigation ongoing into the case of threats and illegal purchase and storage of weapons.
