The government plans to legally regulate the use of electric scooters by minors

The government plans to legally regulate the use of electric scooters by minors, according to the short-term plan for the government’s legislative activities for the 2026 autumn session, which has been submitted to the legislative body.

Specifically, according to the plan, the government intends to develop and submit to Parliament a draft law aimed at reducing the risks associated with the use of two-wheeled electric personal mobility devices, protecting road traffic participants, and improving road traffic safety.

Recall that this issue was also addressed in the National Road Safety Strategy of Georgia for 2026–2030 and the Action Plan for 2026–2027, which were approved by the government.
