Officers of the Patrol Police Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs have arrested a foreign citizen wanted by Interpol Red Notice.

According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the detainee was wanted on the basis of the request of the Greek law enforcement agencies on charges of fraudulently acquiring a particularly large amount of money.

"Law enforcement officers have arrested the wanted person in Batumi.

Currently, extradition procedures provided for by law are underway against the detainee," reads the information released by the agency.
