Under the “Dream” government, medicines have become 100 to 300% more expensive - the situation of pensioners in Georgia is particularly severe, whom “Georgian Dream” is mocking. The salaries of government members are increasing by thousands of lari, while the pension is increased by only 20 lari - member of “Lelo - Strong Georgia” Vato Surguladze stated this.

According to him, despite the establishment of reference prices and, for example, the import of Turkish medicines, in reality the issue of purchasing medicines remains a problem for the population, which means that the reform is not yielding results.

“The cost of medicines, medical inventory and services has become even more expensive. Under the “Dream” government, medicines have become 100 to 300% more expensive. More specifically, over the past 1 year, antibiotics have become 14% more expensive; vasodilator medicines 12%; anti-inflammatory preparations 9%; dental services 7%; preparations for the digestive system 5%, and so on. Despite the establishment of reference prices and, for example, the import of Turkish medicines, in reality the issue of purchasing medicines remains a problem for the population. The fact is that the “Dream” reform is not yielding results and the population feels no relief at all. The situation of pensioners in Georgia is particularly severe, whom “Georgian Dream” is mocking. Precisely for this reason, it is necessary for the state to actively engage so that citizens are not left alone in conditions of economic hardship.

“Strong Georgia - Lelo” demands: the state should introduce a co-financing programme for such vulnerable groups as pensioners and persons with disabilities. These groups should have the opportunity to receive vitally necessary medicines without having to choose between food and medicines. There should be no question regarding the quality of the medicine. It is clear from the outset that a person should be provided with a quality medicine for the treatment of the disease. “Georgian Dream” and the Competition Agency do not hinder the robbery of our citizens and, moreover, themselves become rich at the expense of the impoverishment of our citizens!” Vato Surguladze stated.
