Irakli Antadze: In Ergneti we demanded the establishment of a humanitarian approach so that all illegally detained persons return to their families - consultations are ongoing – on illegal borderization a point of convergence could not be identified this time either

The 134th meeting of the Incident Prevention and Response Mechanism (IPRM) was held in the village of Ergneti in Gori Municipality. This information is distributed by the State Security Service.

According to the SSS, at the meeting all significant incidents recorded from the previous meeting to the present day in the occupied region and in the territories adjacent to the occupation line were reviewed in detail.

The issue of the illegal restriction of free movement and the regime existing at the so-called crossing points was also discussed.

According to the statement of the Deputy Head of the Analytical Department of the SSS, Irakli Antadze, the return of all illegally detained persons to their own families was demanded.

According to Antadze, the issue of illegal borderization, which had taken place in the period between the meetings, was also discussed at the meeting.

“The establishment of a humanitarian approach was demanded so that all illegally detained persons return to their own families. Our international partners also supported us in this. At this stage I cannot tell you anything about concrete results, because consultations are ongoing.

We also discussed the issues of the detection of illegal borderization, which had taken place in the period between the meetings. Of course, our positions diverged diametrically this time as well and a point of convergence on this could not be identified,” Antadze stated.

According to the SSS, the representatives of the State Security Service once again strictly raised the issue of bringing to justice and the enforcement of justice against the representative/representatives of the Russian occupation forces guilty of the murder of Georgian citizen Tamaz Ginturi.

“The representatives of the central government once again condemned the illegal so-called borderization.

At the meeting the tendency of violation of fundamental human rights in the occupied Tskhinvali region was emphatically noted.

The representatives of the central government strictly demanded the immediate release of all persons held in illegal detention.

22 October was determined as the date of the next meeting of the Incident Prevention and Response Mechanism,” the information states.
