6-month state budget fulfilment report - Georgia's largest trading partner is the European Union, followed by Turkey, Russia, China and the US - foreign trade turnover increased by 5.8% this year

According to Deputy Minister of Finance Giorgi Kakauridze, Georgia's largest trading partner is the European Union, in terms of trade, with a share of 20.1%.

Kakauridze presented the 6-month state budget fulfilment report for 2026 to the Economic Policy Committee of the Parliament. According to him, foreign trade turnover increased by 5.8% this year - in January-June 2026, foreign trade turnover in Georgia amounted to 12 billion 925 million USD. Exports amounted to 3,876.3 million USD (up 20.0 percent), and imports - 9,049.1 million USD (up 0.7 percent).

According to a document prepared by the Ministry of Finance, the largest trading partners after the European Union are Turkey (12.8%), Russia (11.8%), China (11.6%) and the USA (8.4%).

Kyrgyzstan's share in total exports is 11.1%. China's - 11.1%, the European Union - 10.0%, Azerbaijan's - 8.7%, Russia's - 8.6% and Armenia's - 8.1%.

By commodity group, passenger cars are in first place in exports with 24.2%, followed by: oil and oil products - 12.6%, precious metal ores and concentrates - 7.9%, ferroalloys - 3.8% and copper ores and concentrates - 3.7%.

The EU's share in total imports is 24.4%, followed by Turkey - 15.4%, Russia - 13.2%, China - 11.8% and the USA - 11.4%.

In the commodity structure of imports, passenger cars are in first place, which occupy a 17.8 percent share in total imports. They are followed by: oil and petroleum products - 9.0%, medicines - 4.0%, petroleum gases and other gaseous hydrocarbons - 3.2% and crude oil and petroleum products - 2.2%.
