We did not hear convincing answers from the witness today - he could not answer any critical questions, - Mariam Berdzenishvili, said the prosecutor in the case of former head of the State Security Service, Grigol Liluashvili, after questioning Grigol Liluashvili's relative, convicted Andria Liluashvili. ­

According to Prosecutor Mariam Berdzenishvili, Andria Liluashvili "cannot be a reliable witness in any way".

“He himself denies the fact that he had any connection with the “call center”. He directly denies the criminal act, he simply confirms the fact that he had some connection, in his opinion, with a legal business. We have correspondence, audio recordings, witnesses in the case. We have an audio recording when the “call center” was closed, it directly talks about the fact that the amount that remained as a balance in the “call center” was to be divided among five people. Four of these five people have been identified and one of them is Andria Liluashvili. The question was asked about the fifth person, who he was, other witnesses say that it was Grigol Liluashvili, although Andria Liluashvili explained that both the fourth and fifth people were himself and that he should have received the share of two people. Questions were asked about what the logic was, but we did not receive convincing answers.

As the witness explained, Grigol Liluashvili, his relative, never used him for any of his interests. He himself explained and confirmed that he had been to the State Security Service five times. The explanation was that Grigol Liluashvili was very busy and since he could not go to his relatives himself, they would visit him at the State Security Service. We did not hear what specific issues he was going to discuss and why.

"Andria Liluashvili cannot be a reliable witness in any way. He was charged and convicted, sentenced to 12 years, and had a large amount of property confiscated. Accordingly, it is understandable to me that such a person would not admit to the act for which he was convicted," the prosecutor said.
