According to her, there is abundant, direct or indirect, solid evidence in the case that will confirm Nia Imnadze’s guilt.

According to Kupatadze, today’s court hearing is more important for her because today Nia Imnadze’s pre-trial hearing will take place.

“I have attended court hearings more than once and looked into the eyes of those people who delivered the fatal blow to my little son, Giga Avaliani. However, today’s court hearing is more important for me for understandable reasons - this is the day of Nia Imnadze’s pre-trial hearing.

Every name and surname that you hear, every silhouette that you see on television screens, any face that figures in Giga Avaliani’s case carries the same values. However, the fattest and darkest barcode belongs precisely to the respected Giorgi Lekishvili, who does not remain unnoticed by anyone. He is a fluid and manipulative person. “Father of Giorgi Malania, Merab Malania, together with you your son gave two testimonies. In both testimonies a lot speaks about his crime, but when he speaks about his innocence, I will say only one small sentence for the former policeman. In the testimony given together with you, your son has written: ‘I did not follow Aleksandre Gabashvili because Niako would be offended.’ As Aleksandre Gabashvili’s lawyer says, it turns out that Aleksandre Gabashvili was to meet Giga Avaliani in order to give him advice. Now I address Merab Malania again: if Niako had not been offended and your son had followed Aleksandre Gabashvili to sort things out with the teacher in the street, former policeman, would this have been acceptable? Is it not a crime?

For reference, the court hearing of the detainees in Giga Avaliani’s case, Nia Imnadze and Anastasia Beruashvili, is underway at the Tbilisi City Court. Nia Imnadze was charged under sub-paragraph “l” of Part 3 of Article 25, 117 of the Criminal Code, which means incitement to intentional grievous bodily harm committed in a group, which provides for imprisonment for a term of up to 13 years.

Anastasia Beruashvili was charged under Part 2 of Article 376 of the Criminal Code, which means failure to report an especially grave crime. The said action provides for imprisonment for a term of up to 7 years.
