According to Ana Tsitlidze, a leader of the United National Movement, Giorgi Baramidze was arrested based on the testimony of Abkhazia war veterans Koba Kobaladze, Koba Liklikadze, and Malkhaz Topuria.

Tsitlidze addresses these individuals, stating that they caused an innocent person to be arrested.

"Koba Kobaladze, Koba Liklikadze, Malkhaz Topuria—Gia Baramidze was arrested based on the testimony of these men.

I address all three of you: you are scoundrels! You are not Christians! You are not even human! You know full well that you caused an innocent man to be arrested! You are unfit to be fathers, grandfathers, or family members! And you are certainly unfit to be Georgians!

You know what your dishonorable reputation is! You will have to live with that reputation!" writes Tsitlidze. For the record, Giorgi Baramidze, a leader of the National Movement, was arrested on charges of treason—specifically, sabotage. The case concerns a statement Baramidze made regarding the war in Abkhazia.

This charge carries a penalty of up to four years in prison.
