Giorgi Baramidze is a Georgian patriot, and the charge brought against him is yet another act of political persecution by the anti-Georgian regime, - Nika Gvaramia, one of the leaders of the Coalition for Change, writes on social media.

He expresses his full support to the detained Giorgi Baramidze.

"My full support goes to Gia and his family! My solidarity is with Gia's friends and the National Movement'!" Gvaramia writes on Facebook.

According to the Prosecutor's Office, Giorgi Baramidze—a leader of the National Movement—was arrested on charges of high treason, specifically sabotage. The case concerns a statement Baramidze made regarding the war in Abkhazia. This charge carries a penalty of up to four years in prison.
