“The traitors are the Partskhaladzes and those who kneel before Simonyan,” Georgia’s fifth president, Salome Zourabichvili, told journalists in response to Gia Baramidze’s detention on charges of treason against the homeland and sabotage.
According to Salome Zourabichvili, Georgian Dream has an “official traitor” in the person of Otar Partskhaladze.
“I don’t know what Gia Baramidze’s detention is connected to. It’s connected to nothing; something like this is unimaginable. They have an official traitor, Otar Partskhaladze, who was their Prosecutor General. Let them clarify how he became Prosecutor General.
When the Americans said that Partskhaladze had been a KGB agent and that they had evidence, everyone in Georgian Dream started shouting, beginning with the National Bank president, saying that we needed to see the evidence and assess it ourselves.
Yet here they are talking about treason over something that was said about a historical issue that has nothing to do with anything. This is a political process - what else could it be?!” Zourabichvili said.
