Officers of the Tbilisi and Adjara police departments of the Ministry of Internal Affairs have arrested three foreign nationals on charges of the illegal group acquisition and possession of firearms and ammunition, following a joint police operation, the Ministry of Internal Affairs reports.

According to the Ministry, law enforcement officers—acting on the basis of comprehensive operational measures and investigative actions—searched the accused individuals' temporary residence in Tbilisi. During the search, they seized four pistols of various models, 156 live rounds, and five magazines as evidence; these items had been illegally acquired and possessed by the group.

Police arrested all three individuals as accused persons.

The Ministry reports that the investigation is proceeding under Article 236, Part 6 of the Criminal Code, which carries a penalty of up to 11 years in prison.
