A plea agreement will be concluded with Nika Gventsazde, who was convicted in connection with the events that took place on October 4 near the Atoneli Palace.

For this reason, Judge Tea Leonidze postponed the case of Paata Burchuladze, Murtaz Zodelava, Irakli Nadiradze, Paata Manjgaladze, Lasha Beridze, Irakli Shaishmelashvili, Irakli Chkhvirkia and Guri Zhvania. Gventsazde’s case has been separated.

As Leonidze explained, Gventsazde’s case will be returned to the court chancellery and will be considered by another judge.

As for the terms of the plea agreement, according to the case prosecutor Vazha Todua, Nika Gventsazde has admitted guilt and applied to the prosecutor’s office with a request for a plea agreement.

According to Todua, Gventsazde will be sentenced to 1 year of actual imprisonment and 3 years of conditional sentence. If the plea agreement is approved, he will leave the penitentiary institution in approximately two weeks.

According to the verdict, Lasha Beridze was sentenced to 7 years, Murtaz Zodelava to 7 years, Paata Burchuladze to 7 years, Irakli Nadiradze to 7 years, Paata Manjgaladze to 7 years, Tornike Mchedlishvili to 5 years, Guri Zhvania to 5 years, Nika Gventsazde to 5 years, Irakli Chkhvirkia to 5 years, and Irakli Shaishmelashvili to 2 years of imprisonment.

Murtaz Zodelava, Paata Burchuladze and Irakli Nadiradze were charged under Article 19-222, Part 2, Subparagraph “a” of the Criminal Code of Georgia, which concerns the attempt to seize and block objects of strategic and special importance, committed by a group. They were also charged under Article 225, Part 1 of the Criminal Code, which concerns the organisation and leadership of group violence. They were additionally charged under Article 317 of the Criminal Code, which concerns a public call for the violent change of Georgia’s constitutional order and the overthrow of state power, and which provides for a sentence of up to 9 years of imprisonment.

Irakli Shaishmelashvili was charged under Article 317 of the Criminal Code of Georgia, which concerns a public call for the violent change of Georgia’s constitutional order or the overthrow of state power, and which provides for a sentence of up to 3 years of imprisonment.

Lasha Beridze was charged under Article 19-222, Part 2, Subparagraph “a” of the Criminal Code of Georgia, which concerns the attempt to seize and block objects of strategic and special importance, committed by a group. He was also charged under Article 225, Part 1 of the Criminal Code, which concerns the organisation and leadership of group violence.

Irakli Chkhvirkia, Nika Gventsazde and Tornike Mchedlishvili were charged under Article 19-222, Part 2, Subparagraph “a” of the Criminal Code of Georgia, which concerns the attempt to seize and block objects of strategic and special importance, committed by a group. They were also charged under Article 225, Part 1 of the Criminal Code, which concerns the organisation and leadership of group violence. This act provides for a sentence of 6 to 9 years of imprisonment.

Guri Zhvania was charged under Article 225, Part 2 of the Criminal Code, which concerns participation in group violence.

Paata Manjgaladze was charged under Article 225, Part 1 of the Criminal Code, which concerns the organisation of group violence. This act provides for a sentence of 6 to 9 years of imprisonment.
