Parliament elects Davit Mamiseishvili as Supreme Court Judge for a lifetime term

Parliament has elected Davit Mamiseishvili as a Supreme Court judge for a lifetime term. Eighty-five MPs supported Mamiseishvili's candidacy, while 12 members of parliament voted against it.

The parliamentary resolution regarding Davit Mamiseishvili’s election as a Supreme Court judge will take effect on April 30, 2027, when the judicial position he is set to assume becomes vacant.

Mamiseishvili, who was nominated for the Supreme Court judgeship by the High Council of Justice, was heard by the Legal Issues Committee on September 14. It was noted that he possesses 25 years of professional experience, including 18 years of experience serving as a judge.
