Tbilisi Kindergarten Management Agency issues statement on children’s intoxication - educational process suspended in seven kindergartens

According to the Tbilisi Kindergarten Management Agency, the educational process has been suspended at seven public kindergartens, while the remaining 183 kindergartens continue to operate. The reason is signs of intoxication reported at several public kindergartens.

The agency said it is taking all necessary measures in coordination with relevant authorities, including the Tbilisi Epidemiological Surveillance Service.

“Children registered at several public kindergartens in Tbilisi developed fever and, in some cases, nausea and vomiting, and sought medical assistance at various clinics. In accordance with legislation and based on recommendations from epidemiologists, the educational process has been suspended at seven public kindergartens as a precaution against epidemiological risks, while the remaining 183 kindergartens continue to operate.

“The agency, in coordination with all relevant authorities, including the Tbilisi Epidemiological Surveillance Service, the National Food Agency, the Investigation Service of the Ministry of Finance of Georgia, and the National Center for Disease Control and Public Health, is taking all necessary measures,” the statement said.
