Russia-South Ossetia relations are developing successfully in the spirit of good-neighborliness and alliance, according to a letter in which Russian President Vladimir Putin congratulated Marat Kambolov, the de facto “president” of occupied Tskhinvali, on “Republic Day.”

According to Vladimir Putin, “Moscow and Tskhinvali are cooperating productively in various areas and interacting in the interests of strengthening regional security and stability.”

“We will undoubtedly continue our close joint efforts to further deepen and develop multifaceted partnership ties,” the congratulatory letter states.

Vladimir Putin said that Russia will continue to provide assistance to the “authorities and people of South Ossetia.”

“I would also like to reaffirm that Russia will continue to provide all possible assistance to the authorities and people of South Ossetia in addressing the tasks of state-building and socioeconomic development,” the letter states.

It should be noted that the de facto “presidential election” was held in occupied Tskhinvali yesterday. According to the de facto “Central Election Commission,” Marat Kambolov won with 84.95% of the vote.
