The Georgian Ministry of Defence hosted Andrew Loomis, the US Deputy Assistant Secretary of War, the Ministry of Defence reports.

Andrew Loomis held a meeting with Georgian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence Irakli Chikovani.

According to the Ministry, the meeting focused on existing defence cooperation between Georgia and the US, as well as future prospects for collaboration. "During the meeting, the parties discussed existing cooperation and future prospects in the defense sector between Georgia and the United States.

The discussion covered the regional security environment and challenges, the long-standing joint contributions of Georgian and American military personnel to international missions, joint Georgian-American military exercises, and other programs.

During the visit to the Ministry of Defense of Georgia, the U.S. Deputy Assistant Secretary of War met with First Deputy Defense Minister Paata Patiashvili and Deputy Chief of the Defense Forces Major General Irakli Chichinadze.

Defense officials thanked Andrew Loomis and the members of the delegation for the visit and emphasized its importance in strengthening bilateral ties in the defense sphere," reads the statement.
