A protest is taking place simultaneously at two locations in Kakheti.

Farmers have gathered outside wineries in the municipalities of Kvareli and Gurjaani to protest grape prices.

For the second consecutive day, the protesters have refused to hand over their harvested grapes, with hundreds of vehicles parked outside the wineries. According to the farmers, the costs of maintaining vineyards, purchasing pesticides, hiring labor, and transportation far exceed the price of grapes. Therefore, they say, they consider the price of lower-sugar-content grapes - GEL 0.30 per kilogram - unacceptable.

They are also demanding changes to the government resolution that established differentiated prices based on quality. The winegrowers say the minimum price for one kilogram of grapes should start at GEL 1.

They say they do not intend to end the protest and have announced plans to block the central highway.
