“Following an offer from political prisoner Levan Khabeishvili and with the consent of the members of the Political Council, I have become a member of the Political Council of the United National Movement,” Ani Nadareishvili, wife of former Defense Minister Bacho Akhalaia, wrote on social media.

According to Nadareishvili, the decision is driven by love for Georgia and a sense of responsibility toward her country.

“First of all, I would like to thank each of them for the trust they have placed in me. I would especially like to say a few words about Levan Khabeishvili. Over the past years, he has repeatedly demonstrated strength, dedication, and commitment to his principles. For me and many people, he is a person who, even in difficult circumstances, has not lost the strength and faith needed to continue the struggle. This is why he is dear to us - not only as a political figure, but also as a friend, fellow fighter, and person of dignity.

I want to emphasize that my entry into politics is not about pursuing a career, a position, or personal interests. I am not seeking power, nor has political status ever been my goal.

There is only one motive behind this decision - love for Georgia and a sense of responsibility toward my country.

I have spent a large part of my life fighting for truth, dignity, and justice. That is why even today I see myself not as a politician, but as an ordinary citizen, patriot, and fighter for this country, who cannot remain indifferent to the challenges facing Georgia.

The history of this party is connected with numerous important events, reforms, and transformations in Georgia’s recent history. Mikheil Saakashvili, meanwhile, is one of the most influential political figures in Georgia’s modern history, whose name is associated with many significant state changes and the development of the country.

For me, this is another responsibility, another obligation, and another step along the path called serving the homeland.

I believe in Georgia! I believe in the Georgian people! And I believe that, no matter how difficult today may be, the best future for our country is still ahead,” Ani Nadareishvili wrote.
